4 Tips to help you get your car ready
While the rain washes away all the road salt and dirt from the roads, you have to get your car ready for the road too.
1. Remove you winter tires, replace with all season tires.
Once you know you won’t be needing those winter tires, remove them and replace with all-season tires. Winter tires are perfect for winter but are not recommended in the summer. Remove them and store in a cool area.
2. Wash and wax exterior.
Take your car to a local car wash or pick a nice day to wash it yourself. Washing you car on a nice spring day will give you a good feeling that summer is just around the corner. Finish off the wash with a car wax, this is vital to keeping the paint looking new. As tempting as it is, don’t leave the first rainfall to wash your car for you.
3. Clean out the trunk.
Over the long winter, we tend to use the truck as storage for all things from scrapers and shovels to gym bag. It time to clear that trunk out and make the car lighter. This will save on fuel and keep you truck free for summer activities.
4. Get your car serviced
Besides cleaning your car, it’s a good time to do a quick inspection and general maintenance on your car. Make sure your headlights and taillights are in working, replace wiper blades if they have been worn out due to icy winter conditions, and most importantly make sure to get that oil change and your wheel alignment done.
